My Kohler has a crack developing down the seam on the very back of the bowl, and it leaks. I have no idea how it could crack - probably a poorly made toilet.

Went to home depot last night, and there was maybe 20 of them there, more or less the same? Yet the prices were anywhere from $78 complete to over $300 complete. Any experience here?

Do Kohler toilets have lifetime warranties? Might be worth checking into.

Checked, only 1 year. This is ~ 10 years old.

Go with Toto.

What do you mean sub par. They're installed everywhere and in my bathroom as well.

Poor construction, valves, water consumption.

They work, but not as reliably as they did 10-20 years ago. Their quality control has gone down the tubes.

This is the future, man, get one of those high tech ones with a heated seat, water cleaning, and a dryer. That would rock.

I've googled a lot of good things apparently about toto. Funny, I've never heard of them until now.

Kohlers are really be best. get an elongated bowl so your junk doesn't hit the front of the bowl... make sure the tank is lined, and get a low flush to save on the water bill.. There is a toilet called the Champion that can flush 30 golf balls with one flush. I think it is the best

Damn. If I were to poop golf balls, I'd see a doctor :p

Do they have any toilets that 'unmark' themselves after some pigs use em?

I have 2 Champions installed in my house. They are really good toilets and freak out our guests when they first flush them. However, I have read a few bad things about them (as Sentinel pointed out, poor quality control), so maybe I'm lucky? A buddy of mine has 2 in his house as well and hasn't had any issues.
