Looking for something that tastes good.. preferably not too difficult (but I am capable at cooking..)

chicken or beef.

no fish or italian

Try sauteeing boneless chicken in a little butter and olive oil. Lightly coat it in flour first. Remove it from the pan and add a little garlic, and shallot if you have it. Deglaze with chicken stock. Add a little tarragon if you have it, and reduce till it makes a sauce. Add a splash of lemon. Return the chicken to the pan to rewarm. There ya go.

Umm, I dated a lot of Italian women. A little garlic always worked for me 😀

I talked to my dad earlier, he's cooking his gf macaroni and cheese (made w/velveeta) with spam on the side. sadly i'm not joking, it's one of two things he knows how to make.

he's not expecting to get any action tonight, is he?

well I was at the grocery store, and saw some top sirloin. Looked quite tasty, so I bought two steaks (totalling .75lbs..) they looked sorta small but I think they'll be just fine.
They're in plastic baggies in the fridge marinating right now (thankfully I can make a decent marinade:
pepper, salt, garlic powder, some of the "all season" spice stuff, worcheshire, and a little mustard)

And she'll have to settle with instant potatos, as I'm not mashing up any boiled ones..

Trying to decide whether to use the forman grill or skillet.. bleh.

edit:
got blue cheese to put on top, as well as some onions and mushrooms to saute with it
