I'm looking to sign up on one of these online stock trading websites. I'm a beginner so ease of use and understanding is important, but I'm not stupid about the stock market so I would like to join a site with a lot of features for information.

You should check out Scottrade, my mom uses it... they have some of the cheapest commissions on the web...

Costco (in conjuction with Amex, I believe), have several plans for stocks and mutual funds trading. But their descriptions are so screwed up... Check their web site.

So datek isn't any good? peace sean

I think he means that you don't have to deposit money to register and the resources are free, but the trades are $9.99. I don't use the resources but there are quite a few. Datek is an excellent brokerage in terms of infrastructure and has geared itself more towards the daytrader lately, rather than the 'full-service' investor, like schwaab or etrade.

Btw, Ameritrade bought Datek although I don't think the deal has totally closed yet.
