what's a good software for mpeg editing

I just need to cut out a little from a mpeg so that it would fit on a cd...what is best software? I don't want to split it, it is about 30 megs above the limit, so i just want to edit out a few seconds.

"M-Edit" ... don't know exactly who made it, but I think that *is* the exact product name, so try a google/raging search on it.

Adobe Premiere cannot edit mpeg's. IFilmEdit is probably the simplest program to use.
