What's a good, small nonstick rice cooker?

I have a 3-cup Salton job that sucks balls. Cooked rice coats and sticks to the bottom (2:1 water rice ratio), I must go non stick.

that isn't really the point, I hate wasting food. well I do hate things that have to sit overnight to clean too 😉

Advanced Fuzzy Logic!?!?! I've never seen someone overclock a rice cooker before, must be from MSI.

You dont need a goddamn "fuzzy logic" computer to cook rice.
20 dollar cookers will give u the same results if you know what you are doing.

i know exactly what i was doing when i cooked my rice and it still stuck to the bottom. it ALL has to do with the way the rice cooker is made. the 20 dollar one only heats from the bottom. the more expensive REAL non stick ones cook all around to ensure even cooking.

now a GOOD small nonstick rice cooker is made by zojirushi. you should look into one that cooks AND keeps warm so you don't have to take it out instantly. a cooker only will cook the rice but if you let it sit, it gets gross.

this one cooks and warms but it is five cups. way too big for one person.

i had this one but i got tired of cleaning the lid all the time. rice never sticks or burns.

the ultimate rice cooker it's three cups, and is programmable. you can load rice in the morning, program to start cooking an hour before you get home, and then you have nice fresh rice when you're back.

i have a tiger brand one that works really well. if you want to find one in stores, go to asian stores.

well damn that's nice but $129 :Q

will they let me in asian stores? I'm white as wonderbread.

For the ultimate taste, you have to go with IH (induction heating),which uses a 1/4" or so thick cooking pot which has a lot of heat capacity. The pot is heated evenly with magnetic field.

IH is the norm in Japan today by the way.

mmm...rice. I have used all kinds and the newer nonstick are a lot better than the old ones, but I have rarely had the rice stick on a "$20" model. I dont exactly use 2:1 water, I use the first line on the tip of my index finger to guage how much water there should be. My mom says that for new crop rice, you gotta use less or something.

No. We won't let you into our stores, whiteman. Hehe. Be brave! My girlfriend is black and I take her into every asian place imaginable: pho restaurants, karaoke bars, car shows, etc.

Anyway, do those computerized rice cookers make that much of a difference? I bought one of those "Aroma" models from Costco. 30 bucks, endorsed by big daddy chinese chef himself, Martin Yan( i actually hate martin yan ). It works great for rice with plain water, but if you try to cook it with broth, it tends to burn a bit.

get one from national. Those always work grreat 🙂

I hate hate hate the cheap rice cookers. they suck ass
