What's a good site for Linux newbies

I'm thinking of partitioning 10 GB of my HD and trying Linux, but I am looking for a good site for Linux newbies to see if I should do it. There are a lot of things to go through, like instillation, getting things like my cable modem to work etc ...

Besides the previous suggestions, you can also try www.google.com when you're searching for specific hardware issues or anything else.

And of course Anandtech forums is a good place for information too when all your research doesn't help.
