We're switchin from DSL to cable modem and our Hub won't work.

Apparently we need to buy a router. Which should I get? I have a CompUSA and BestBuy near me.

thanks

Well, I may be going against popular opinion here, but I really like the Linksys BEFSR41. Never had to use tech support, but I hear it sucks royally.

Great router. I've got four of them up and running in different locations at the moment and have never had any problems.

Currently using a D-Link Di704P router... no issues. Has a print server built in, as well.

I currently have the BEFW11S4 Wireless router.

I was using a Netgear RT314 before that. I had it for over a year and never had a problem with it. I would highly recommend their products.

Amazon has the BEFSR41 for $60 shipped with a $10 rebate (link)

I got a D-Link DI-604 for $30 AR from Best Buy (Amazon had it for the same price too) but it looks like the rebate expired. It is a pretty good router.

I'll vote for this router as well. I've had nothing but good luck with mine....an absolute breeze to set up.

Looks like the linksys wireless 4-port router goes for about $150

:(

is it worth it? We can have all our computers plugged in wiht wires, but my work laptop has a wireless card in it and would be hella cool to access things without plugging in

Get both! That will work great for the laptop and use the wired for the desktops for security purposes.

A) Don't get the Belkin - before I had the Linksys, I had a Belkin and it completely died after about 5 days.

B) The D-Link 614+ is a good router (about $150) but there was a $50 rebate at Circuit City about 3 weeks ago - so watch out for such rebates in the future.

Cisco 806 with firewall package - You'd have to order this one online though - Probably $350 - $500 ish.
