What's a good reliable Minivan? Nothing fancy, just reliable and fuel efficient

The ones I can think of are Odyssey (too popular, can't get any rebates), Caravan (what we currently have no with over 150k miles). Beyond that I'm blank!

We travel about 80 miles a day, commutting back and forth from work and it has to be a minivan because we haul a lot of cargo. Just wondering what you guys think are a good "fuel efficient" minivan for a good deal?

Currently looking into the new minivans and anything american as these seems to be less demand for them. I'm not looking for anything fancy looking, just decently reliable.

If anyone who just purchased a new minivan or can help with any sites that'll get a good deal, please chime in. Thanks!

you said cargo, you means taking out the 3rd row only or even the 2nd row?

Odyssey (driving a 02 myself) 2nd row seat do not fold flat. I wish they were when i have to constantly switching between ppl and cargo.

I looked into both a new Honda and Toyota minivans when my wife's 2000 Ford Explorer got stolen. Both the Honda and Toyota are the best of the best. Both my wife and I like the styling on the Honda more than the new Toyota.

Since the new Toyota Sienna is the top rated minivan even better than the Honda, don't except to get any rebates/incentives on them. You are probably going to have better luck with a Honda dealership.

In the end, we ended up purchasing a used 2000 Toyota Sienna XL with 30,000 miles on it.

BTW: We test drove all the minivans except for the Kia Sedonia. Heard the Kia is not bad for the $$$$, lots of them running around in SC.

Hope this helps

warren brown (washington post car reveiwer) is constantly raving about the town and country and the ford freestar.

personally, my family has an oddysey and its very nice. Pricing on them is starting to get more reasonable now as well.

If you want a good and inexpensive minivan you really can't go wrong with the Pontiac Transport/Chevy Venture.

If price is no object then I'd look at Honda and Toyota.

May be Kia is another inexpensive one too.

Do not get a Venture!!! If I had to do it again I would pay the extra for the Toyota or the Honda.

you're probably gonna get what you pay for in this segment. toyota and honda have no incentives but they also have the best vans. so it's just a question of what you can afford.
