Whats a good program for removing background noise from dolphin sounds? (for my research)

I'm trying to use cool edit, but that thing is so advance, its hard to know whats going on. Are there any simpler proggies?

Hmm... im a graphic guy not an audio guy.

A friend of mine swares by Acid Pro. You could try that. Its a costly program but if you make A MILLION DOLLARS with your research it wouldnt be taht bad.
