2008 Focus SES
Used, 20k miles (sold from a dealership)
5-speed manual (pictures show an automatic though... might be a generic picture or mix-up on the listing)
4 door
Sounds like it's fully loaded - Microsoft Sync, 15" styled alloy wheels, spoiler, most of the other goodies; no sunroof (not sure if it's available)

I'll post the listed price after; I don't want to skew anyone's opinion beforehand.

Edit> Oops, I read 19k as the focus price, not a separate fusion. If you just want to know going rates for Focuses look at buy-it-nows and completed listings on eBay.

Regular price for the Fusion (not Focus) was in the $21-22k range IIRC. I left before they got further into negotiation, though, so I'm just going off what I heard.

He was like a kid in a candy store anyway - there's no talking him out of the deal, but I figured I'd see how he did.

Still curious about the Focus.

I see your edit. Yeah, if the Focus (not Fusion) was $19k I'd walk away laughing.

I've been spending damn near all my free time searching and searching for 2007-2008 Fusions.

I'd say a 2008 SES with 20k would be $14k.

One thing I've learned in the past few weeks regarding used Fusions is that 100% of the used 2007 and 2008's I've Carfax'd are previous fleet vehicles/rentals. Every. Single. One.

The absolute *BEST* deal I've found locally on a Fusion is a 2007 SE v6 with 36k miles for $12,250.

It's a Focus, not a Fusion, though.

I would love to find a reasonably priced V6 Fusion, actually, but I can't find anything in this area (Eastern Connecticut, for ~$12k). With the size / weight of the Fusion compared to the Focus I wouldn't consider a 4 cylinder.

I've been wondering about Fusion 4 cylinder performance as well, for the same reasons.

Has anyone driven both? I would imagine the 4 cylinder would be real sluggish. The v6 felt effortless to me.

4 cylinder fusion performance is pretty decent. The V6 would always be nice but I still have plenty of power for passing and enough to make it about as non-boring a drive as a cheap sedan can be.

4 Cyl Fusion with the 2.3 (not the 2010 model with the 2.5) is supposed to be adequate, but not inspired by any means. The manual w/2.3 is supposed to be pretty decent really.

As for the car in the OP, SES have 16" wheels, and as for the price, ~$14k-$15k is about right. A loaded SES new would have been ~$20k, IIRC.

We've had another discussion similar to this recently, and you can scoop a Fusion up for similar $$, if midsize is your thing. Personally, I went with the Focus as I wanted a coupe, and I wanted something small and light, with good fuel economy. I've been very pleased with my Focus ('08 Coupe S, 5Spd, ~25k miles so far).

They're asking $13k for it, but they said they're flexible on the price. I can probably talk them down to $11.5k or so.

It's listed as a manual, but the pictures show an auto. I have very little interest in another 4-speed car, so that'll probably be the deciding factor. It's also a sedan, and I prefer coupes for small cars.

According to Edmunds 'True Market Value', that's right in the middle of the accurate range. I second the distaste for 4-speed slushbox autos, it definitely takes a lot of performance and fuel economy away.

If the car is in pretty much mint condition, $12k is a good deal for an SES, but be sure and test a few alternatives before you leap.
