so i got myself another hd bring the total to 3 (2x80gb, 1x200gb). i was thinking about getting a ata controller card but i might as well go with raid since it offers the same functionality and more features if i ever want to use them. whats a good brand or chipset? how much do they run for (i'm cheap since i dont really want to spend much upgrading this system, $30 max)?

on the topic of cost, ive seen this on ebay and this on newegg. what do you guys think? other recommendations?

maybe a lil off this topic, but would i be better off getting an external enclosure (firewire obviously)? i do have a laptop. so it may be helpful due to the added versatility.

thanks

1. 3 HDs + 1 dvd burner should fit on most motherboards without addon cards
2. no you don't need raid, in general it just causes lots of problems if something goes wrong
3. if you just need a couple extra ide ports, those you linked should probably be fine
