What's a good pair of earphones for sound quality

I chaps. I have an iPod Touch 4g and wanted to upgrade my earphones. Read reviews and people's commnents about the Klipsch Image S4 ($80) and all that hype going on I thought I was sold... Got one at BestBuy and it sounded worse than earphones that come with my iPod. It's got plenty of bass - yes, bass is nice and smooth - but the treble is just too weak. It is not crisp at all.. only a few out of hundreds of songs that demand bass sounded good but all the rest sounded like sh#t. It also sounded kind of flat.

Do you guys (audiophiles) recommend a good one that's got plenty of treble and crispness? I'm hoping under $100 but outside of that is fine as I need to see my options...

Actually I ended up getting the following:

Etymotic Research HF5 for $127. This seems to be the real deal. Pro stuff.

It has supreme detail and treble / crisp sound. Places like BestBuy and Fry's don't even carry these.
