What's a good P4 motherboard?

A friend of mine is looking to build a lower end P4 system and needs some advice on a motherboard. It has to take SDRAM (he's got alot of it lying around) and 1.4ghz+ P4. Stability is key for this system. Also, an Intel MB would be ideal. So with that said, what would you guys recommend?

If he really must use SDRAM and prefers an Intel board, then this would probably be the best option

Intel 845 Chipset D845WN With LAN $120 at Newegg.

I would highly recommend he go with a DDR solution though, SDRAM and A P4 isn't that impressive 🙂

The Asus P4B is a good SDRAM P4 motherboard that sells for around $125 and the Intel 845WNL is another good board that has onboard sound and NIC, its priced about $144.

I'd stay with the Intel i845. Also if you ever upgrade to DDR RAM you'll still be able to use the same motherboard.

VIA P4X266A mobi

I'd be extremely hesistant to recommend that board to anyone after the fiasco that has surrounded it.
