Whats a good P2P program to use?

Hi,
I was wondering what was a good P2P Program to use.
Ive used Kazaa Lite, but 9 times out of 10 it gives me a dud download.
WinMX is OK, but doesnt really give me much information on what im downloading.

Ive given up trying to use mIRC.

Dont reccommend anything with Ads/Adware/Spyware in it.

Not too keen on overnet.
A fellow clan member recommended Bit-Torrent, with the burst gui, but i wasnt too impressed with that either.
I think that i`ll stick to Kazaa Lite and WinMX for now.

DC++ is by far the best out there IMO. Its harder to use and is more time consumeing when looking for stuff but it has it all.

Only downside is you need at least 15-20gig to get on any decent hubs/servers. To get on the best ones you need 30gb+.

What do you mean by you need at least 15-20gb? Do you mean 15-20gb of shared files?
How much more complex is it than Kazaa Lite or WinMX to find what you want?

Just checked out WinMX - reminds me of eDonkey2000 and nothing downloads ;)

What is all this queuing nonsense :confused:

Back to the old favourite Kazaa Lite then...... :D

You need to be sharing that much. Most hubs/servers on DC++ tells you the minimum of shared files but some don't. As far as using it its not as simple as loading it and searching for what you want like Kazaa and others. Its not really that hard either.

Load DC++,load public servers,connect to one and search for the file you need. If you don't have any luck with one server/hub connect to another one. You may have to go through several to find what you want but at least with DC++ you can connect to different servers/hubs to find what you need. Where with Kazaa/WinMX if you don't find it in a search it just ain't on their.

Have you guys seen this article USAToday and what do you think will become of it, if anything? BTW I like Kazaa Lite for it's ease of use.

I agree with the kazaa lite having a lot of duds.

But I usually use WinMX. IMO it offers far more options and info than kazza lite. Those people just write those lame captions that appear, definitely not going to trust those morons.

Files, Movies, etc..:
eMule all the way. Its slower than Kazaa but the files are much more trustworthy. Plus you can find forums (like the sharereactor one) that give direct links to verified files. But like I said, its a lot of queueing and pretty slow.

Whats DC++ like for things other than music? Cos Kazaa Lites great for music, its just the other stuff is usually dud.
Any Spy/Adware in it?

I think it shouldnt. I didnt ask what was the most popular, i asked what was the best to use. For example, IE is the most popular internet browser, but it sure as hell isnt the best.

Winmx has open nap protocol, so that you can use other servers, never had much luck with it though, whereas with DC++ you can find just about anything you are looking for. Personally I don't like the interface.
For those people that can't seem to get any speed on winmx, try changing the ports, incoming and udp, as a lot of isp's will limit or block the common port numbers
