amazon has a ctk-491 for cheap (around $70)

I think i have a casio ctk-691 (with a Radio Shack label, in black) and it sounds full and rich.
I found it on sale for $150 (or maybe $125) -- and that was a couple years ago.

At the time I compared it to some $150ish Yamaha keyboard at Costco, and the RadioShack(rebadged Casio) blew it away sound-quality-wise.

I've also seen Casio's on clearance at K-Mart for super cheap, but that was a couple months ago.
It might be worth stopping by to check.

Whatever you do... MAKE SURE it has "General MIDI"

I found a CTK 591 on sale and picked it up. I like it. It's touch sensitive and whatnot.

The software just dissapoints me. If I play a long note then, while playing it, play other notes, it only records what keys were down when I let up on all of the keys. Everything in between is lost.

Finale, Noteworth, and Voyetra all do that.
