I recently sold my MX510 to my friend after only a few months of use, i just didnt like the feel of it. It seems that logitech appeals to the comfort of your palm in their products, which is what drew me. However i tried a copperhead at compusa about a month ago and was amazed at how natural the mouse fet on the finger tips, and instantly i knew it was a better mouse. Everything about the mouse screamed gamer from its lightweight, size and the grip on the clickers. So anyways i went ahead and ordered the diamondback from newegg today which is similiar to the copperhead and is a better buy imo $40 vs. $60. Anyways moving on i was puzzled on which mousepad to get for it, there arent many people with razers in the reviews so i was helping you guys can help me out? I dont really want to dish out $30 for the official razer ones so im hoping to avoid that.

There have been quite a few mousepad threads, but a lot of people seem to prefer the func 1030 mousepads. Their line of pads can be found here. Also, try their website, though the site is down, I think.

My review of the original 1030:

Pros:
-Two textures to choose from
-Mouse glides over very smoothly
-Rubber base stays in place
-Not too big, not too small
-Mouse clip works very well, you never have to worry about your cord getting caught or tangled ever again
-Good looking tin case for transportation
-Excellent quality
-Reasonably priced (for a gaming mouse pad)

Cons:
-Could be cheaper if they didn't include the case
-Surface might wear out after a year of heavy use.
-Seems to attract dust and dirt
-...

Someone on my floor in my dorm has the pad with a razer diamondback and the pad is just as good for the razer as it is for my MX510. My pad is now wornout, but I still have the other side that is unused and replacement pads can be purchased for only about $10. What's also nice is that you can get custom images put on your mousepad.

WoW i just read some reviews on their site, even one with a diamondback and they said it was a perfect combination. Looks like func is the mouse pad for me, ive narrowed it down to 2 pads- 1) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817114306 2)http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817114301 . Im leaning towards the first one because it had the review of the diamond back, i think they both use dual sided faces tho both the same rough and smooth....hmm well the first one is bigger which i like. Thoughts?

Definitely go with the first one, the 1030 Archetype. The other one is the older version and is pretty much obsolete. IIRC the Archtype is pretty much better in every way. It has a larger surface, redisigned mouse clip, better base material, and some other things that I forgot.

Hmm well the archetype it is then, but before ordering will this mouse pad wear out your mousefeet very fast? I will probably be using both sides, has it worn out your MX510? If so how long did it take? Im a pretty hardcore gamer and play at least 2hrs a day....at least.

If you have the right desk surface, it may be your best bet. I have one of those wooden desks with the fake, matte-ish plastic coated surface, and it's much better than any mousepad I've tried.

I bought a roll of teflon tape for my mouse on ebay. I change the tape out about once a week, so my mouse feet haven't been worn out, but my pad has. If you want to slow the wear down, you can probably buy some of that liquid to coat your mouse feet with, though I haven't tried it. I bought the tape off ebay, it was something similar to this, but I got a whole roll for about $6-7.

Yah but to me i dont really think a mouse should be taken care of like that....any guess how long the razers mousefeet would last with the func pad? The diamondbacks mousefeet look very small....should i get a cloth pad?

After about 5 months, there is no sign of wear for the guy on my floor who has the diamondback/func combo. I'm sure after a while, it's definitely going to wear out though I don't know if it's going to be the pad or mouse feet. I rely on a smooth mousing surface so it is important, if i had to choose between a surface that is smooth or a surface that lasted a long time, i'd take the smooth one.

havent tried the archetype yet, but i have a F-series and the 1030 and love em. If you want an extra budget mouse pad, you can get the blue/orange 1030 for like 14 bucks. i personally like the F30R more. Its a flatter surface, although you have pick if you want rough or smooth, you dont get both.

i have a func mousepad the smooth service is great for everyday use and loose gaming. The rough surface is best for fps gaming.

I had a ratpadz and I couldn't stand it. It was just a lump of textured plastic which was just high enough off the desk to be annoying and uncomfortable. The Razer eXactMat is way better IMHO. There's a noticeable difference in the speed vs control sides, it's thin, and it came with a gel wrist wrest which I prefer. It's also pretty durable...had it for about 6 months and it's not really showing much wear (used daily for several hours or so). Never tried the func, but if it isn't durable I'd think about the eXactMat. If it lasts twice as long it'd be worth twice the cost...

But then again, if I hadn't gotten one for free I'd probably be using my old kensington gel mousepad :D

Yah i was looking at the exactmat+gel pad combo. The func itself is about $25 s/h included and i would probably get a new gell wrist pad for about $10 because the pad itself has no support for the wrist. So i might just go with the exactmat and its engineered for razers specifically so i may not have to worry about it messing up. But wtv thx for all the advice ill make my decision soon. Btw the diamondback is sweet!!!! it looks so hawt with its blue leds, and very comfy, it works well with my plastic dell mousepad that i got for free but i prefer a larger surface.
