Hi,
I'm thinking of getting amd 64 3800. I was wondering if anyone knows a good motherboard for it. I need it to have PCI-E so I can get the Radion x700 PCI-e.

Also is the above better then going with Intel? I was looking at the prices on Pricewatch and Intel seems to be cheaper then AMD now. Before it was the other way around? The 2.4GHz 3800 will cost me ~$500-$600 CPU+Mobo(Not including RAM). I think with Intel I can get a 3.4 Ghz + Mobo + Ram for that price...

Thanks for any input...

If your gaming get the AMD for sure. With your situation I would suggest getting the Winchester AMD 3500+. Most people can overclock that well over 2.6ghz. You can save your self a few hundred bucks and get a better video card, like x800 rather than the x700.

MSI RS480M2-IR motherboard - ATI Radeon Xpress 200 chipset. Socket 939 mATX with 16x PCI-E graphics slot, gigabit ethernet SATA 0/1/1+0 RAID support, Dual Channel memory support, USB 2.0 and IEEE 1394 firewire ports, s/pdif digital out on integrated audio, and it even has an integrated DX 9 graphics chip onboard. The whole package is small enough to fit into an Antec Aria case to make a PCI-E Athlon 64 small form factor PC. This board is in stock at numerous online stores starting at about $92 plus s&h.

Hi,
Is it RS480M2-IR or RS480M2-IL. I can find the IL but not the IR?

Also is this a quality board? I ask because the ones that Anandtech considers good are $160+
