Whats a good motherboard for a: Celeron Tualatin 1.4 100MHZ 256k

Need to find a motherboard that will support a Celeron Tualatin 1.4Ghz 100MHZ 256k CPU.

Have been looking at the MSI 815EPT.

Plan to overclock as much as possible. Likely use PC133.

Thanks for any input.

Is there such a thing as a 1.5ghz Tually Celeron? I thought they maxed out at 1.4ghz (unless its an OC or engineering sample with unlocked multipliers).

As for mobos, the Intel 815 boards are great but they have one glaring weakness and that is max. memory is limited to only 512mb. A VIA 694T or SIS 630ST based mobo support more memory and just as fast and stable, IMO. You can also go with older BX boards (limited to lower density memory but able to support up to 1gb) and use an adapter.

Celeron Tualatin 1.5Ghz 100MHZ 256k CPU.
There is a 1.5? I thought they only went to 1.4.

Hard to find 815 boards now. I have a TISU. Its not bad. The best one if you can find it is the Abit ST6

Thanks for the ideas. Yes it is a 1.4.

I liked the Aopen AX3sp but there are SO many versions of the board and you have to be careful not to get week 70, ect., that I opted to not go with that choice. Apparently some versions of the board will not work with a 100MHz Tualtin. It did very well overclocking.

The ST6 is ideal.... but just can't find it.

OldFart.... you don't seem too enthused about your Soyo TISU, why is that? Was it quirky? The reviews seem to show it did pretty well with overclocking. Did you get one of the very first releases of the board?

The TUSL.... looks ok. I will check into that one more.

What about the CUSL2-C motherboards, or is the TUSL just the Tualatin version of that board? Anyone know what the "-C" meant?
Looks like it received some top honors for overclocking.

Truthfully, I never messed with the TISU all that much. Its one of the kids rigs. Set it up, but didn't spend much time with it. It does (like many 815 boards) have a cold boot issue if you overclock. Nothing a wire mod wouldn't fix. Its fine I guess. Price is very reasonable, and its obe of the few 815 boards that are still available.

The ST6 is nice because it has manual 1/3 and 1/4 PCI dividers. Other 815 bpards like the TISU, TUSL2 are 1/3 132 FSB and below and 1/4 133 FSB and above. If you overclock to the 120 - 132 FSB range, the 1/4 is nice to have. The TUSL2 has some bugs above 140 FSB.

The Vcore range on the TISU is very good. 1.050 - 1.825 in .025 increments.

I am kind of narrowing it down to the TISU.

Unless I decide to not overclock... then the MSI 815EPT (it has onboard video/uses installed ram for resources).

Thanks again..

Thanks for always helping out OldFart...

There are two different order numbers on their website... not sure what the difference is. Might need to make a call.
