whats a good model of plextor cd burner?

I don't know the specific model no., but pick the fastest speed that's within your budget (IDE) and then just make sure it has BurnProof.

i think they are all top notch, and they don't have many models of the same speed. i don't have experience with their scsi drives but my ide 12/10/32 is great (and i think it's the first one with burnproof). i would recommend the 12/10/32, or if you have the extra money get the 16/10/40

The scsi is just killer. I have a friend with one and it's fast! Of course, he had to add a card (Advansys for about $50) to his system, but now he's set up for other scsi peripherals.

I thought scsi was pretty much the way to go before they came out with the burn proof technology. It definitely raised the stock on EIDE burners. I hated buffer underruns! :|

I also have a 16/10/40 and it is perfect. But remember to get one with burnproof. That's very important

if you have the money the new 16x would be the way to go.but you could get the 12/10/32 with maginally slower performance for alot cheaper.and they are the best in my opionion.i've been through acouple other brands before getting my 12/10/32 and it is by far the best i've had.they will burn any thing and i've only had acouple coasters.may i also suggest using clonecd.it makes 1 to 1 copies of anything.
