whats a good mobile cpu

Im going to buy a new laptop soon and i cant decide what cpu to get. I'll hopefully be using this thing for gaming most of the time and i havnt really seen straight comparisons between centrino, p4 and, athlonxp. which would make the better chip. Also, havnt seen anything about the mobile Athlon64 even though its out.

Is it worth waiting for something better to come out (cant wait past july)

thanks

I like the Centrino's because of their battery life and processing power... however, AMD's Mobile Athlon-64's sound promising even though there's only one or two manufactuerers with Mobile A64 based laptops. I'd wait and see what develops with those before chosing a Centrino.

Over here there's a thread full of people with the eMachines M6805\7 (me included) based on the Mobile Athlon 64 3000+ and all seem to be very happy with their purchases.

I didn't feel like reading the whole thread... what's the battery life like?

battery life will suck on all P4 and Athlon based laptops
they are basically just "modified" from a desktop cpu to run in a laptop

if you want the abosolute best battery life i would shoot for either centrino or a transmeta based laptop

if performance is your thing the P4 or athlon (64 or xp)

btw i got my laptop from http://powernotebooks.com
if you are looking for options
