What is a Good Low cost MPEG Editor? I use Sage TV 4.1 on my HTPC and it outputs DVD Compliant MPEG Files. But I need a good and easy to use basic editor to cut out the commericals on my shows before I archive them to DVD. Thanks

Yeah, the question mark was there because I had no clue. I did a quick google of "virtualdub mp2" and the first entry mentions something how if VD included mp2 capabilities it'd be as if it condoned dvd piracy...I'll continue my search for ya, though.

I tried tmpgenc on an mpeg file that was written by Beyond TV, and could not get the file loaded. It reported that the file type was not supported or was corrupt. I know it wasn't corrupt, as I am able to play it and load it into Virtual Dub. Anyone have an idea what the incompatibility might be?

im not sure about free, but womble mpeg-vcr and video redo are some of the best programs for cutting commercials. I think womble is a little pricey but it works really good. I use showanalyzer with my sage setup and it can mark the commercials for either of these programs. Note womble mpeg video wizard is not what i am talking about, people have trouble with it.

TYTools is pretty popular among the Tivo crowd. It includes an mpeg editor and DVD burner. And it is free.

slightly watered down version of DVD Author, Media Editor, and Encoder Xpress all in one $50 box. You can cut the commercials during the authoring stage or with Media Editor. but You may be able to cut commercials with the dvd authoring software you are using now
