AT&T is what I currently have, and they aren't too great. There is a $2.50 charge every month if I use long dist or not. MCI kind of sucks too. Sorry if the mods think that this belongs in the I wanna thread of hot deals, but nobody ever replies to those anyway. Are there any decent companys out there? I usually use a calling card anyway. thanks a lot

If you have Sprint PCS cell phone service, you can get a good deal with Sprint on your home phone.

I get 50 minutes a month free with no monthly charges.

I have used onesuite.com for the past 6-7 months. I definately won't be going back to the big name long distance carriers anytime soon. 2.9cents per minute anywhere in the U.S., anytime. No monthly fees.

Have the long distance turned off on your phone then just use 1010220 or whatever when you need to make a call.

I use sprint, but that's only because I get frequent flier miles with them. We live in Georgia and all our family is in Michigan so my wife racks up a decent sized bill every month. I figure we should have a free trip to Michigan in about a year :).

Even though you can't use your MC right now, when you are able to I would strongly recommend switching to bigzoo.com or onesuite.com you'll have hundreds of dollars!

Try Opex Communicatons at either this site or this one.
They're a real long distance carrier without all the run around, 800 dial up BS that some of the other carriers require. Their best plan is 4.5 cents per minute anywhere in the US, 24/7, no monthly fee, no minimum charge, and 6 second billing. If you sign up through that second link you'll receive 100 free minutes, also.

I also hate the 800 dial up BS that most phonecards have, that's why I use BigZoo's new "skip" feature which let's me program in 3 phone numbers (for me it's home, work and cell) where I can skip entering in my super long PIN. So all I do is dial a local 503 access phone number, their caller ID recognizes that it's me and asks me to enter the phone number I want to dial.
