(1) Most "beer" guts come from the drunken food choices that you make, not the beer itself.

"God, it's 2:00am - I'm starving after an exhausting night of drinking. I should eat a half-pizza before bed."

(2) Dark vs light coloration has little to nothing to do with caloric content. Guiness is one of the darkest beers around, yet it only has 10 more calories than Bud Light. Drink whatever you like - it's not going to make a noticable difference in your caloric intake. So what if an Imperial Chocolate Stout has 230 calories? You're only going to drink two of those 10% ABV monsters before you're buzzing along.

I've heard Heineken Light is actually very good.

If I had to choose, it'd be Coors Light though.

get your taste buds checked.

the real answer is guiness.
#1 - You can't even spell it right. It's Guinness.
#2 - This thread is titled, "What's A Good Light Beer". Are you saying Guinness comes in a Light version?
#3 - Don't be dissing on Canadian Beer, it's all they have up there, dammit!

This. Heineken Light is slightly better tasting, but 99 calories.

Beck's is always cheaper in my area, too.

Amstel Light

This might have been pointed out already (didn't read the responses), but if your concern is just calories, Guinness is surprisingly low. Something like 125 per 12oz.

I've found that Mich. Ultra Amber is good, though it has slightly more calories and carbs versus regular Mich Ultra. I am curious to try MGD 64 and Becks Premiere Light, but I have the feeling neither will be too stellar.

Also, if you are trying to lose fat you should reduce the amount of alcohol(beer, liquor, etc) you drink as it is metabolized before anything else, so it will stop the fat-burning process until all alcohol is burned off. Alcohol by itself won't cause you to get a fat, rather the excess food that many people consume while/after drinking (as mentioned above). The one-two punch of no fat burning AND excess unclean calories combined will make you fat!
