my grandpa needs a new one as his is like 30 something years old. He prays everytime it starts up. How are they now? Last i look it doesn't seem the technology has really changed for them in the last 30 years.

does not need to be a honda mower either, just a honda engine. I have a poulan that has honda power, it was a cheapie at costco. It starts first time every time, and that's the part that honda does well.

Yes, good point. That's what I meant.

Lawnboy used to be a good mower back in the day. Not sure about now and come to think of it not sure if they even still make them.

Lawnboys are still made, however, they were bought by Toro a few years back and are all 4 stroke now..

Get a 3-4 yr old 10518 or similiar Lawnboy and it will outlast your relative and probably last until you retire.

one more for Honda power, they do have different "grades" of Honda engines now. The best ones are still pretty pricey, but even the lower end is still better than most of the other powerplants available. I have had many mowers over the years and my favorites have always been Honda
