I'm basically looking for something that i wont have to overclock to get the best performance. I have never OC'd anything before and I don't need to or plan to later on. I don't have any use for raid now or later on in the future either, and I hate have dealing with onboard components. any suggestions? I know someone started another thread similar to this one, but they wanted one with raid...so this sorta isnt a double post (so please dont flame me, if you dont have anything helpful to say just dont say anything)

The ABIT KX7-333 sounds like the perfect candidate to me. A very fast/stable KT333 MB with nothing but the essentials. Here is a review of the Abit KX7-333R, "R" being raid but the KX7-333 is identical in all other respects.

The MSI KT3-Ultra is a little less money than the Abit.

If you don't like the 6-channel sound or LAN that comes with it, thereby saving the cost and hassle of dealing with two PCI cards, disable them in the BIOS.

Unfortunately, bby125, most of the latest AMD-compatible motherboards have all this onboard audio crap on them - and some even have onboard LAN and RAID built onto them. And a few such motherboards have those onboard features permanently enabled, with no way whatsoever of disabling them (there are no enable/disable settings in the BIOS, and there are no jumpers that do such things).

The ABIT mentioned in this thread is the only one that I know of that has no onboard audio and no onboard LAN (but offers an optional RAID controller).

Just setup my KX7-333R and it works great. Very stable but have yet to overclock it. It's basically the same as the KX7-333 but with raid.

You might want to check out the Soltek 75DRV5. If I recall the only on board part it has is sound.
