What's a good heatsink?

Just installed an Epox 8KRDA3 with an AMD Athlon 3000. I used my old heatsink off of my Athlon 1700. Temperatures hav been running a bit high ever since install, and then finally it reached the shutdown temp I set the other day. I don't think the processor will get damaged, as I have the temp set to 60, but I really think a new heatsink that possibly fits better will make a world of difference.

Any Suggestions?

A new, better hsf will definetly make a huge difference.

Thermalright would have been my first choice if I didn't water cool.

Zalman would have been my second choice. However keep in mind that these types of hsf's are humongous.

I use a Thermalright SLK900A and really like it.

Yeah, if it fits, the XP-120 simply rocks. Light (despite its size) and awesome performance. Plus, 120mm fans are pretty quiet.

Those all look like some killer heatsinks. Money really isn't an option here, but I wanna make sure there aren't any good quality ones for a lil cheaper. I don't need the absolute max cooling, but want something that will get the job done. I know this is asking you all to look deeper, but I really appreciate it. Or does anyone have one for sale?

Also how do I know which will fit my board? Or is it universal?

I wouldn't get the 120. The SP-97 is currently the best... and can be modded to accept 120mm fans.

However i would spring for an SLK-947U. And get some AS 5. Im running 40C idles CPU and 23C case and my ambient room temp is around 78F.
