I have a friend that doesn't have much room in his house for a system, so he was thinking a laptop might be a good alternative.

I was trying to find something with a Radeon 7500 Mobile, but I can't seem to search by the video chipset on Pricewatch. Anyone have some suggestions?

Ugh, anything cheaper? The 8100s and 8200s are around 2500 bucks.

laptops are generally more expensive than a comparable pc, especially high-end ones such as the dell inspiron 8100 and 8200. so, if you want to find a laptop for gaming, youre pretty much out of luck if you want something cheap. look for something with the geforce2 go or radeon mobility (7500 i think?) and look for cheap prices there. just make sure you get at least 32mb of video memory, or gaming performance will suffer.

small pcs aren't hard to make, mATX and a matching case is quite small.

I apid around $1600 for my laptop back in November.

If you want a gaming laptop you can expect to pay around 2000 if you want the goodies. That's just the way it is.

My laptop scores a 2300 on the latest 3dmark. I use it to play many games like Wolfenstein, Nascar 2002, etc.
