I see a lot of people talk about Antec cases, but also Lian Li and Fong Kai. Are teh aluminum cases worth it, I do want to get a black one (hehe they look cool), and need the full tower because I'm tired of running out of 3.5" bays. I wish they would make midtowers with more 3.5" and less 5.25". I don't want to have to go out and buy adapters either. BTW, should I go 400W power supply, or is 300 really enough for a normal system. I do have 3 hard drives, and plan on getting an Athlon XP 1800 though.
Thanks.

Definetely the Full Tower Lian Li PC-70. The give you 6 3.5bays (compared to the 5 I had on my old AOPEN HX-08). As for aluminum, my temps have droped about 5 C so I'd say it was worth it.

Check this out.

Also, You can get it online for about $205+shipping (check pricewatch)

or if you are really set on black (and I understand...black is just so cool!)

CoolerGuys sells a black anodized version (PC-71) for about $250+shipping.

For an athlonxp 1800 and 3 hard drives I would really recommend a 400w PS. The cases I mentioned above dont come with PS's so you can get a high quality one. PC Power & Cooling have the best power supplys around IMO.

Hope this helped!

I certainly say my Lian Li PC60 was well worth the money - its very easy to work with, got loads of spare drive bays, loads of space inside and above all it looks cool with the floppy, zip and CDRW spray painted grey!

I'll never go back to cheap cases again!

Well if you're looking for the biggest and most sturdy, I'd say go for the Antec SX1240. 400W PSU, massive case size, (6) 5.25" bays, (2) 3.5" bays, and (6) internal 3.5" bays for massive storage of harddrives.

If you want black real bad, take a look at the Antec SX1040B. It comes with a 400W PSU as well, black finish, which looks more like charcoal, but none-the-less, very stylish. It's not as tall as the SX1240 but it sure is beefy for a "mid-tower".

I usually lean towards Antec because I love their side panels, they're so sturdy you can sit on them, and they have an excellent warranty.
