Are there any? I'll go ahead and mention Notepad seeing someone might want to be smart and say it.

The problem is there are too many choices. Just run an internet search. Lot of the free download sites will give reviews about their HTML editors. Arachnophilia comes to mind as highly recommended.

frontpage express is free, comes with IE, windows with IE has this too.

anyway, a search in download.com and such sites, as apoppin said is the best recourse.

Thanks for the replies. I currently have FrontPage 2000, because I got it for free. ;) However, it really doesn't work that well. I do have an older version of Allaire HomeSite, but it is from at least 2-3 years ago. I don't think it has a lot of the newer updates.

I am thinking about getting a better text editor. One of the main features I want are colored tags, so at least I can see decipher better what I am typing. I'll keep looking though.

Stay away from Netscape composer. Although the HTML it generates isn't that bad, I have had it crash *way* too many times to be remotely useful.

ElKevBo, try to use norton crashguard. It won't prevent the crashing, but at least you could save your work before it crash. Same as the navigator part itself. I use netscape communicator and it crash all the way when opening a homepage full of javascript.
