What's a good Free/Cheap photo site?

It's not for your usual pics here and there. I have about 500 pictures of my memories that I want to share with friends. (accumulated over many years)

I'm looking for:
*the "main page -> album -> thumbnailed pictures -> actual pictures" format
*lots of space... I can resize them to 1024x768 or something... maybe 20-30mb?
*an easy interface to navigate for both viewers and the host.
*must support hot-linking...

or
Is it that hard to make my own photo album? I have little to no HTML experience but as with most ATOTers I can learn fast as it should be intuitive... I already have that 1and1.com free hosting...

http://www.fotki.com looks pretty nice... premium member ship is $30 a year...
 
not too many companies i know do hot linking.

but look into ofoto, sony's imagestation (Great site- unlimited storage)

or download a PHP photo album, thats actually what i'd suggest. google for "dalbum" you need no html skills, just some basic skills on FTP permissions etc, which is all int eh readme
