We are looking at a new house, and the living room is not terribly small, but not as big as we'd like. So I jokingly suggested to the wife, " Oh well, I guess we'll have to get a flat screen TV to reclaim a little space." I don't know if she will go for it, but hey - its worth a shot. So what is a good make? I'm not interested in a 60" - thats ridiculous. Does anyone have one? Whaddya think?

I have a 27" Sony VVega and am very happy with it. The only con I can think of is it's weight. Boy is it heavy.

I think he really meant a plasma or LCD TV that would take up little space.

I wouldn't buy a Plasma or an LCD tv right now. The prices are way too much for me

I wouldn't buy a plasma or LCD. I don?t think the technology is there yet for one, and for two, my neighbor just bought a 15" LCD TV to hang above the bar, and it was about the same price I paid for my 27" VVega.

Anyhow, KDOG, you need to be clearer on what you want.

SONY WEGA SONY WEGA

geesh...if you are looking for a good flat screen tube set, check out the Toshiba Cinema Series sets, awesome picture, awesome price, the Sony doesnt have a thing on the Toshiba.

If you are thinking LCD, Toshiba also has a nice selection of smaller LCD's, but I like the Sharps. Cant beat the picture on those sets.

If you are thinking HD tube set, then check out Samsung, they have 27 and 30 inch sets that are quite nice for the price.

And if you do take these guys' advice and get a Wega, make sure to pick up a couple hundred dollars worth of monster cable on the way out Best Buy's door.
