i'm looking to spend about $400 or less. i've had an olympus d460z for a while now and have been very happy. i am looking to slighty upgrade and was looking for some brand/model suggestions. i am mainly interested in taking pictures that are clear, even when blown up to poster size (possible?). i am also looking for great zoom capabilities. multiple lenses and slrs would be great too. any suggestions?

ok, i've narrowed down my selection to:

canon s400
canon a70
fuji finepix 3800 or 2800

any suggestion on the best one of these? i want one with fast write times, and great red-eye reduction. i've been kind of leaning towards the s400

I just got the Canon A70 and I love it. Full manual and auto control. Don't get the fuji. I had one and took it back. They don't focus well in low light because of the absense of the AIAF. The movies are also ten times better with the Canon models, plus the canons have optional lens attatchments and a optional waterproof (to 170 foot) case. I found the LCD much better on the Canon as well. They only bad thing with the Canon is the redeye, but that is soooo easy to fix with software.

I just got a Canon A70 too. It is a great camera for the price. It takes great pics indoor with bad lighting, nice flash. Haven't tried outdoor shot yet. The only negative is redeye mention above. The S400 is a little bit smaller and $100 more, also a great camera.

I would choose a Canon camera over a Fuji. The build quality seems alot better IMHO. The 3800 has nice features and a nice lense, but I think the bodies of the Canon's are built better. The Fuji is nice, but the Canon's seem better made to me. Canon's are some of the best Cameras out right now, Sony better watch out before Canon steals the Digicam crown.
