What's a good credit card worthwhile having?

I've been through a couple of cards these past few years and I'm not sure what's a good card still for me. I had a Mastercard from a gas station chain here that I used to get discounts on fuel with and I'd collect points also getting basically unlimited car washes or snack if I wanted. It had no annual fee.

I decided I'd try something else so I got a travel rewards type card from my bank, with a $ 120 annual fee. I'm not sure if I spend enough to even cover that fee per year and gain extra points, so I'm considering something else for when this ones term expires.

What are some good cards?

Yea I was thinking that too but I don't have a problem making payments on time and I never pay any interest, so I might as well collect or gain something from usage. And I use my card for virtually everything.

If you're not sure you spend enough, then don't get a card with a fee unless you really think the perks are worth it.

Yea I didn't really think it through. I'm gonna find out actually how much I need to spend to cover the fee's for my card and see if it's realistic, either way I already paid the fee for this year so I gotta duke it out. But in the meantime I'd wanna see what other people here use...

Chase Freedom. Visa. No annual fee. 3% off the top 3 things you spend the most on (up to $12/month). 1% on everything else. You get $50 for making your first purchase. and If you save up $200 you get $250. I just deposited my first check for $250 and I haven't had the card for a year yet.

Whoa that sounds really good. Wonder if it's offered in Canada...

Chase Freedom Plus, 3% on top 6 spending categories, no caps, fee free for first year, $30 per year after that

Charles Schwab First Invest Card... 2% unlimited cash back, deposited into a brokerage account, no waiting to reach a certain amount of cash back before redeeming it, it's a straight credit. Probably the best all-around card out there atm.

Citibank American Express Platinum Card - 15000 Thank You Points (see thankyou.com) after $300 in purchases, plus 5 Thank You points per dollar spent at Supermarkets, gas stations, and drug stores, and 3 Thank you points on all other purchases for the first 2 years. Free Priority Club membership, and free Citi IdentityMonitor as well. Great card to have for at least a year (then the $125 annual fee kicks in).

Those are the only cards you need.

I've got a discover card that gives me stuff back on certain purchases like gas and groceries, which makes up most of what I buy. No annual fee.
