whats a good cooler for the 90nm 3500+?

well i got a pretty tight budget, and i need to get a good cooler for my cpu.
what cooler would you guys recommend? im would like it to be quiet as possible. thanks.

i asked the same question a couple of days ago and all seemed to point to the xp-90 or the xp-120 , i did some research and they are not a bad buy!

yes, xp-120 if it fits the mobo...xp-90 might be a good compromise

also...it depends whether you plan to overclock.

If you do NOT want to overclock lots then be best solution might be a Zalman 7000AlCU.

not gonna overclock right away, but i will in a few months probably.hopefully the pc3500 will help with a good o'c. i guess i will go with the xp90. 120 looks too big.

If you're not going to overclock right away, why not just use the stock HSF until you need something more capable?

sapiens because all the 90nm 3500+ are only oem, well atleast thats all i've seen.
will those zalmans be good enough? or are they only for older amd's?

danger den
best money can buy
unless u wanna go peltier
and f ur scared of water like i was do urself a favor and goto xoxide.com and pick up some fluid xp + its non cocnductive!
i tested it by pouring some into a light socket and screwing the lightbulb in and it lit up like a champ!

You can have my stock AMD64 3500 HSF - it's brand new, never even used.It is plenty sufficient for cooling and even mild overclocking. Many are overclocking using the stock HSF's,just not high overclocking.
Give me $10 + S&H and it's your's.

out of curiosity subhuman, what are you using to cool your 3500+?
also does it matter if the stock your selling is a 90nm or 130nm?

For athlon 64 chips, 3500+ and up, will I see any problems with the stock heatsink if I don't plan on overclocking?

I'm using a Zalman 7000a AlCu to cool mine.
As far as the stock HSF goes,it doesn't matter wether the CPU is of the 90 or 130nm variety. In fact HSF's fit across the board on socket 754,939 & 940.

Stock HSF is fine for normal usage and mild overclocking. No need to upgrade it.
