What's a good & CHEAP PCI sound card compatible with 98/2k? :)

Doesn't need to be anything special, but it needs to work good :).

Right now I have an older Yamaha XG POS that keeps crapping out on me, right now it's not even working at all and won't recognize drivers :disgust:.

All it really needs to do is output decent sound to my stereo, allow mic input, not pop/crack when the volume is turned up, and allow more than one stream at a time (whatever that's called - hear two+ wav files at once). Has to be 98/2k compatible & be PCI.

Thanks :)

well... what do you mean by cheap? for $50, a soundblaster Live! value is excellent... but i've heard a guillemot maxi sound muse works well too... find one on e6ay and make SURE it's from a site that has good drivers for win2k!!!

Ensoniq AudioPCI. about $12 on the forums. works great in win2k, win9x, linux, beos, freebsd, qnx (actually, I've never found an os that DOESN't support that card).
