I need a sub $200, 1680x1050 22' monitor with HDCP for my aunt, I need to be able to buy it online or from a brick and mortar store in SoCal.

Any suggestions appreciated :)

HDCP may be a problem. Most pc monitors do not care about HDCP .
If you can ignore the HDCP part I have a Acer V223W that works very well and sells for around $170

Newegg has this one that is HDCP enabled.
An inch larger than the one I listed above for $189 shipped. I may pick one up for myself as a spare tv/monitor combo.

Do you know how big 22' is? That's 1.2 times the typical adult giraffe height!!

That Acer is 1920x1080 fyi. OP, you don't want to exceed 1680x1050, or is that just to keep costs low?

If you're not in a rush, you could hold out for one of the periodic $200ish sales on the Dell 2209WA; its 'e-IPS' panel probably makes for the best 22-inch LCD monitor currently available. I'm fairly certain it's HDCP-compliant, though you'd have to use an adapter if connecting an HDMI device (DVI and VGA only).

Which is the confusing part since HDCP is mainly used at 1080P which requires 1920x1080.

i think you will need a projector to get a 22 foot screen and im not sure if projectors are HDCP or not.
