What's a good case to fit my requirements..

As the conroe is rolling out, I'm interesting in building a new computer. My current computer is a P4 1.6A overclocked to 2.4ghz. One of the things I need to get is a new/better case. I'm currently using a Lian-Li (PC-60) but it's not as quiet as I want. It's probably due to the fans.

So, for my new case, I'd like to try to gave the following features:
1. Only 120mm fans
2. Mid-tower. I want the space for airflow and a big tuniq hsf if I can get one.
3. Good construction. Conservative look, like the Lian-Li.
4. No side or top vents. I place the case under my desk, sideways.
5. Not over $150 (shipped).
6. I prefer no side windows. It's of no use to me since I won't see it anyways.
7. All/most aluminum would be nice.

Does such a case exist? I know Lian-Li has a couple of cases like that, but they're way over what I'd like for my budget. Also, the height might be a bit more than I'd want.

I found this Lian-Li PC-007. It might fit my needs, but I can't find a site that offers it. I've tried froogle and pricegrabber. I don't know what sites have a good lian-li selection. It's not the PC-7 or PC-7B, which uses 1x80mm also.

update: hmm. The PC-7B II seems to have all 120mm fans.

Wow. Nice deal on the V1000 Plus 1. I was actually looking at the PC-7B plus 2 earlier too. They both would fit what I need. Thanks for the suggestions.

Hopefully there's more suggestions, not to say I don't like my current options. I haven't looked into cases for a long time and would welcome the opportunity to see more of what's out there now.

I vote for the V1000...it's a great case, I have one myself. Shouldn't be too much more than your pricerange.

I think it would be hard to beat the Thermaltake {L=Matrix Vx]http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811133019[/L] series for your purpose. The front panel is all mesh, so you'll probably have to back most of it with some kind of filter to help keep the dust out considering your chosen location for it. Getting it up off the floor would help a lot on that front. The Armor Jr. is not a bad case either.

The 7A or 7B are the same as the 007 - they are the retail versions. Those are Ok if you don't want any modern conveniences inside. Typical L-L retro interior.

.bh.

All the Lian Lis mentioned are great cases, but I'd like to add the GIgabyte Poseidon as an option also. My friend recently got one and he loves it. Lots of room and enough width to fit his Scythe Ninja with ease.

Lian Li v1000 series.. pick the color and model that fits your budget
check performance-pcs.com but they are kinda expensive, theres other lian li's but this seems the best bet

reset button = for people who make mistakes, lian li users don't make mistakes =]
a reset is basically a hard off/hard on back to back anyways. and yea its a pretty quiet case with the parts in my signature.

The V1100 will be quieter then the V1000 due to the heavy AL door and pre-applied sound dampening material. I also think it looks better then the V1000, but that's really personal preference.

If you go with either one I'd replace both fans with 120mm Yate Loon's if your looking for the lowest possible noise level.

the fans that came with my Lian Li PC-V1000B PLus i got in December 2005 were ADDA 1500 RPM fans. they aren't loud at all and can't be heard from 1 foot away. yate loons are probably more quiet but also rotate at only 1350 rpm or so. so you get a little less wind and motor noise but also a little less air. @1500rpm the adda fans seem perfect for case fans. maybe if my fans start getting loud in the future i'lld replace them with some yate loons

You don't need a reset button. I accidentally tore out the wire coming from the reset button while modding my Wave Master (have yet to fix it) and I don't really notice the loss since the power button on most PCs will do a hard shut-down if you hold it down for a few seconds. Or if you are impatient just flip the PSU switch off and back on...

Yate Loon fan? What's happened to panaflow Fans? Is Yate quieter?

Due to my positioning of the case, I can't really make use of a case with a door. It's sideways, under my desk. I like a lot of free usable desk space.

The V series has the new design that flips everything around, how it is? I've seen complains that the PSU isn't big enough for some, what PSU's will that limit me to?

The 80mm Panaflos are near silent, the 92-120mm (particularly the 120mm) while still good are not as quiet as the 80mm counterparts.

The Yate Loon is quietest 120mm fan I've ever heard but it is also a sleeve bearing fan so I would limit its application to non-critical applications such as case cooling.

The only PSU I've heard complaints about is the OCZ Powerstream which is longer then the ATX spec. I would say it's no big loss since there are far better PSUs anyway.

This is more specific for someone who has the V1000, does it come with fans? Also, what type of power connector does it use? Motherboard or PSU.

the v1000 plus i got in december of 2005 came with all the fans included with a 3 pin power connector which would fit on the motherboard with rpm sensor or to psu with a 3->4 pin adapter
