What's a good buy?

It's not like I am short new games to play as it is... I got a huge backlog of games I've bought but not beaten yet. Nonetheless, there has been a number of games recently released and I don't want to miss anything too good!

To give an idea what I like and what I already have:
Crysis
Crysis Warhead
COD4
C&C3
Mass Effect
Stalker Clear Sky
Orange Box
RB6 Vegas

Now as a fan of Joint Operations I've really been waiting for Novalogic's next game, but there is almost no info and I think it's at least 6 months away still. I recently played through COD4 again with my new video card, and damn it is a lot of fun, especially the SAS missions. If only it was 2x as long!

I've been looking at:

COD 5
BIA: Hells Highway
Left 4 Dead
Bully
Fallout 3
Far Cry 2
Mercenaries 2

I am a big C&C fan but I'm not sure I will buy RA3 unless I hear from y'all that just completely kicks ass. I am mostly a FPS fan, also like RPG and RTS.

Mercenaries 2 and FC2 seemed like for sure buys, but now I'm not so sure.

How is COD5 vs. BIA? After enjoying COD4 so much, you'd think I'd go with COD5, but I would be open and possibly prefer something different... just a different feeling (being how similar the COD games play and feel so far).

I am also really looking forward to GTA 4, but well a game like GTA 4 I'm going to buy it whether or not I buy one or more of the above games.

Cod 5 is made by the people that made cod 3 if I am not mistaken, or two, not sure - whichever one sucked...

As for Left 4 Dead you can download the demo on steam. I played the first level with some people and it was a lot of fun on co-op but not that great solo. As long as you have access to an internet connection all the time then it could be a lot of fun. I expect a lot of modding to add to that game as well. Can't help you with the others :(

Fallout 3 is the only one of those I've really played, but it's pretty awesome.

i wouldn't buy Mercs 2. There is a demo to help you decide though. BIA and FC2 are very repetitive. L4D is meh and way too expensive for a mod.

haven't played Bully or CoD5. Fallout 3 is a bit of a disappointment.

So umm what would you buy?

OP you should get left 4 dead its a blast online, every game is different, plus its valve so you can expect some extra content added along the way. Get bully as well its pretty fun, like GTA from a kids perspective basically. Ive heard good things about fallout 3, not too many negatives apart from stability. Far cry 2 is apparently a mixed bag, i guess people who expected it to be like the first one were dissapointed, its nothing like farcry 1 but supposed to still be a fun game.

Dont bother with RA3, its pretty forgettable.

Left 4 Dead is the best online experience I've had since StarCraft, and probably the best co-op experience I've ever had, period. Highly recommended.

Other than STEAM, is there a Left 4 Dead PC demo available? Because I cannot find one.

I bought Fallout 3 & COD5 at the same time. I'm normally a mp gamer, but I occasionally play some sp games. For what it's worth, I've been devoting a majority of my gaming time to Fallout 3.

All Valve games require steam anyway. So no. And you shouldn't want it anyway because steam is way way way >>>>> than retail.

Fallout 3 and Far Cry 2 are both good - different styles of play. Fallout 3's real-time combat sucks, although it feels a bit less repetitive than Far Cry 2 (same missions, but still fun). It's kind of Oblivion vs. GTA.

You're not missing out on anything, you're just paying more for games you're not playing.

Fallout 3 gets my vote.

COD5 might be ok, but $50 says you can finish the singleplayer in 1 sitting. Even though Farcry 2 looks to have potential, I'd wait until it's $30 (post-Christmas deal?). BIA Hell's Highway is more of the same and a sales flop apparently.

i need a modern day era game with modern day weapons - no aliens, no mutants. already have FC2, but its getting boring.
