My moms Bday is comming up soon and she was asking me about PDAs (which I have no clue about since I don't own one) and I'm guessing she wants one now. Shes not a big computer person so it has to be pretty simple / easy to use. She wants to know if she can input data from the PC to the PDA (I have no idea if they can do this, i'm sure they can though)

Doesn't have to be color screen or anything fancy, the budget is $100 - $150.

HiTek21, there are a few PocketPC's on the market that are around $180.00 or so, take a look at your local office supply stores. I suggest a PocketPCV over a Palm device because she would be used to the interface and transfering data between the PC & PDA is easy as cake, hope this helps :)

I would definitely buy a Palm OS PDA since it's going to be cheaper and easier to use compared to a more powerful and expensive Pocket PC PDA.

Check out the Palm m130 for $125 -or- Sony Clie PEG-SJ20 for $120.

Palm PDA's @ Staples.com

The Palm m130 is $194.99 + $5.01 of anything = $200 - $50 off $200 coupon - $25 MIR - free shipping = $125

The Sony Clie PEG-SJ20 is $149.99 + $0.01 of anything = $150 - $30 off $150 coupon - free shipping = $120

Pay $5 more and get the Palm m130 with the color screen.

refurb visor edge might be nice, those are around your budget, new might be around there too by now. big plastic pda's are annoying to carry around and use. the less you carry it around, the less you use it..more likely to eventually just get ticked and toss it. don't bother with palm.

I prefer PocketPC, but I do think that she'd be better off with a PalmOS based PDA.

That being said, the Handspring Visor is an excellent PDA. I don't know if I'd bother with the color Prism, though. Battery life is much longer on a standard Visor.

Cassiopeia Be-300, an awsome PDA for the price (right inyour buget). It is absolutly amazing what it can do once you load Expod.
