Seems ublock no longer works for youtube. :( They found a way to circumvent it and you now get unskippable 3 minute ads on some videos.

What is the goto ad blocker now days?

I thought we had to stop using that one for some reason so I switched to ublock. But I just switched back to it and yep it seems to be working. I was reading a few articles saying that Youtube seems to be fighting adblockers a lot so they must have figured out ublock but not Adblock.

They are now delaying loading some videos if you have adblock. It's intermittent.

Yeah I was wondering what that was about, been seeing that a lot.

Youtube is such trash now and they keep making it worse, wish there was an alternate site that had the same amount of content.

There is an Adblock for Youtube extension for Chrome. It works!

I'm not on youtube much, but ublock origin always works for me. Perhaps you need better lists.

uBlock origin does not work for Youtube anymore, it just keeps feeding you ads after ads.

Sorry, I meant a link to an ad filled video. It could be the videos I watch just don't have ads. I'm not a big fan of video in the first place. Most of my youtube views are music video.

Oh, I watch a lot of videos. All varieties. News, woodworking, Computers, Networking, Pets, Sciences.

I also suspect that uBlock is freezing my Chrome from time to time.

I noticed that, but i think it is more the software on youtube side that desperately tries to load commercials trying to circumvent the adblocker.
It is rare for me, though.

Wasn't adblock the one where they were allowing companies to pay to have their ads come through adblock?

Yes, but you can disable that if you want. With AdBlock + anyway.

Used to be that you needed to add a filter list to block YouTube ads in video with AdBlock +. Is that no longer the case?

Well... ads are kind of important to them. They have millions of daily users, the question is how do you extract money out of them? Facebook went the same way.

Clearly some people need better versions of adblock in this thread it seems if you are still seeing ads or getting these delay loading videos.
