What's a good 17" monitor? Nice refresh rates at higher res is very important.

Thanks for the information.

Poeticpower,

I am using an iiyama 17" trueflat model VMPRO410 right now and have been for 6months. I love it so much I am getting the 22" version. They have won many awards and use the Mitsubishi Diamondtron tube and grill pitch instead of dot pitch. In other words, they are really nice and clear. Very high refresh rates.

I won't turn this into a for sale thread, but I am selling mine if you may be interested. Good day.

If you read text all day, get one with a Shadow mask tube. If you play games/work with graphics and whatnot, get one with a Sony Trinitron tube. Reasons behind this are that shadow mask tubes display text really sharp (depending on the monitor) while Trinitron tubes display colors with radiance. Be forewarned though, a lot of Sony monitors have geometry issues.. makes the picture look like it's swayed to one side, and no controls are available to fix it. I've had very bad experiences with busting an RMA to Sony..

I am very happy with my Mitsubishi Diamondtron 17" monitor that I use on my secondary system. It's very crisp, clear, and it's also nice and flat.

Samsung 700NF. Love mine, good refresh rates, 1600x1200@75Hz. Little pricey at around $280 though.

700NF, the best performance/price ratio 17". Incredible resolutions and refresh rates, very nice looking images.
