What's so special about diamond?

Paulson, go take a look at what a 2 carat diamond is worth, &amp; then take a look at what the equivalent mass in 24 kt gold would be worth. I think you'll retain your diamond status in a heartbeat. There's a 1.5 carat at a local jewelry store I was looking at. It's a freakin' big diamond, but it'd be a pretty small piece of gold. Expensive as hell.
