Whats a final value fee credit? (ebay)

Ive been granted one, but what is it? The ebay help thing assumes i know what it is. I opened a dispute and since the guys not registered anymore ive been granted this. Whats it mean?

they refund the fee associated with the selling price of the item... a percentage of its final value.

Well, I know that EBay charges you a fee (specific %) of the final selling price of your item.

If they credited you back some amount...they either overcharged you to begin with, or the sale was cancelled. That's MO.

What others have said is correct.

Ebay takes a small percentage of your item's final price -- assuming you actually got paid for said item.

If you file a dispute because of non-payment, then (assuming you win the dispute) Ebay will refund you the percentage they took when they assumed you received payment.

It's a refund of the "final value fee" due to a nonpaying bidder.

Ebay fees come in two parts:

Listing fee (fixed price)
Final value fee (% based on the winning bid value)

If the sale is never completed (nonpaying bidder) ebay is obligated to return the final value fee
