What's a faster HD configuration?

Hi. I have a Maxtor 7200rpm ATA/66 drive. I just got a Maxtor 5400rpm ATA/100 drive. I'm running an ASUS A7V133, which supports ATA/100. Which drive'll be faster?

For bonus points:), which type of drive would need a twin for the fastest RAID 0 setup? ie: 2x7200rpm@ATA/66 or 2x5400rpm@ATA/100?

Thanks!;)

I'd say that the 7200rpm ATA/66 would be faster than the 5400rpm ATA/100.

My reasoning is as follows:
1) the possibility that you will come anywhere close to 100mb/s transfer is rare, with the exception of cache bursts.

2) as a single drive, the transfer rate doesn't matter at all, right? With the exception of copying from outside sources like a CD rom drive, the hdd copying files onto itself doesn't depend on the ATA transfer rate.

3) as for a raid 0 setup, I'd be willing to stick to 2 7200's than 2 5400's.
