whats a decent cheap hotel in NYC?

goin there sat with my girl for our 1 year. gonna see blue man group and get some dinner somewhere. i wanna stay in the city that night. what are some decent hotels that wont dry out my bank acct? in talkin like ~100 per night/room. also...what are some good romantic restaurants in the city?

I don't know what your definition of decent is, but the Carter was fine for me.

I've found that for staying in NYC, Priceline works the best. I stayed at the Hilton Times Square for about $80 a night back in June.

Check out the Intercontinental-Barclay. You can usually find good deals around $130 a night on hotels.com or another discount site. Its a very nice hotel! My mother always stays there when she visits.

The Pennsylvania is cheap and right in Herald Square, but it's aging and the rooms aren't that nice looking. The Metropolitan is another midtown hotel around the same price and very nice, but the rooms are TINY. Club Quarters is nice, you can probably get a room for about $140ish..it's downtown though.

Stayed at some hotel right next to Lincoln Center...Essex maybe? Or something that starts with an "E". Was about $130/night and it was nice...smallish room but well appointed.
