Yeah over here in the UK we use the term CV or "Curricullum Vitae" much more than resume but it amounts to the same thing!

it's similar to a resume, but it is focused on your education and experience in academia, research (as opposed to just working...)

it's basically resume for people in academia.. however if you are not in academia, it is not just your resume. because you wouldn't put something like "sales manager - best buy" on a CV
