whats a blue dresden t-bird mean? and how to know real core?

I just got a retail t-bird 900 and I saw somewhere that the dresden blue die cpu had some special value but hey didnt state what ,anyone know ( Buy.com)....and it says 900 on the cpu how do you determine the real core value ....thanks for any replies......Wayne

The blue core TBirds are the ones that use the copper connects for the core. This process allows the CPU to run at higher speeds. This is why most the 1G+ TBirds are the copper ones.

The "real core" value is whatever it is marked at. However, the top possible speed for these chips should be a little higher than the top speed for the green chips from the Austin fab.

Pretty much all it means is that the blue ones will probably fare better (higher top speed) if you try to OC.
