What would be a better configuration for a laptop. 6GB (1x4GB 1x2GB) I'm assuming this would be single channel or 4GB (2x2GB) Dual channel?
 
More memory is better than faster memory. But you need to ask yourself if you really need 6 GB of memory? You are going to be paying a hefty premium for a 4 GB stick.
