It looks like a bad english translation more than anything else.... I believe that they are confusing a return (within your vendors periord) & warranty RMA.

I like the way they included photos of what they would not accept and how to package an item. Makes it very clear.

It looks like standard issue to me...

None of the OEMs would take the cards back either if you had anything in that list done to your card.

So we should just avoid Galaxy cards that says KFA2 cards right? It is still ok to buy other Galaxy branded cards?

their definition of physical damage is pretty ridiculous.

i mean , i see the point that ok maybe if my system had a crazy power surge and all the components on the video card burned out because of it, that is sort of my fault for not having a surge protector. but if they just used some cheap capacitors that burned out on their own, etc and i've seen that happen plenty of times, then thats not ok?

i mean theres basically almost no reason they will take a RMA it looks like unless the card is say DOA but looks perfectly new.

I dont know a single manu that will take back a card with visibly burnt caps. I believe they file that under Physical damage. If the card's so cheaply made that they aren't using proper rated components (only way that would be the cards fault), don't buy it. There'll be PLENTY of upset customers letting you know this problem, since it wont be rare at all.

Man if manu's took back parts with burnt components, I'd have not been buying mobos guys who suck at vmodding had fried, replacing a few electronics and giving em to friends back in the day. God bless manu's for not taking it up the ass from noobs who can't properly overclock even more than they already do.

Edit: "Component bump" is BS, but just gently tip it back upright before you ship it, or tell them it happened in shipping. I can't imagine them enforcing that one... since that happens CONSTANTLY in shipping and some parts even get packaged looking like that. It doesn't affect anything.

Otherwise, yeah it's not a good warranty, but it's consistent with 90% of manus today.

They specifically state they will not process repairs on parts damaged during shipping.

Why someone would buy an off-brand card is beyond me. I'd barely even consider an XFX or BFG over "we warranty everything" eVGA.

oddly some of the offbrands are even better at warranties than evga. evga doesnt let you sell your card etc which is annoying if you have a used evga card.

there is ac opmany called "jaton" i am not even sure they are around anymore, but they woudl take basically anything even without reciepts. the ram company "wintec" is the same way.

so it totally depends on the off brand company.

I agree. I wasn't aware of the questionable warranty when I bought my Galaxy (KFA2) Geforce 9600GT. I'm very happy with it (until it breaks down of course hehe...). It had a nice $50 rebate and as Omega said, that's simply the risk I was willing to take with that $50 gamble. That's why the Galaxy 9600s are down to about $126 CAD, which is absolutely a killer power:price ratio (especially in Canada) if you are willing to risk the warranty.
