Tribes 2 was almost finished, until Dynamix and Sierra decided to buff out a few rough spots.

Tribes2 will be out around christmas or early next year.
Team Fortress2 will be out Q2 or so next year.

Thats what I heard last time.

The new maps from the latest patch are supposed to be like TF2 will be.

TF2, is in development HELL. Just like DNF is. Both DNF and TF2 have been in development a long time. Both will be released sometime in 2001. Hopefully.

yeha TF2 was considered to ahead of its time in october 98. well! i guess they deciced to wait till it was its time.

They decided in mid-development to quit using the modified q2 engine and come up with their own. Hence, delays, delays, delays.

I still can't wait.

Yeah, the original plan was to use a heavily modified HL engine which was a heavily modified q2 engine.

well i guess they make the game and sit them on the shelf and try and age them like wine....
but seriously sierra is spending assloads of time on that new technology(forgot the name) that is suppose to give everyone connections 'like they are on a lan'
And they are adding features which have no use but to annoy us. Such as the voice comm system...honestly i don't want to listen to 12 year olds and inbred hicks talking to me and giving me orders.


As for Tribes 2, it was suppose to come out this summer. So i planned on spending my summer caping the flag and yelling shazbot alot but oooh nooooo....now its suppose to come out begining of 2001. Come to think of it the leader of my Tribes clan was a game reviewer and he some how managed to procure a demo of Tribes 2 like in January of this year it looked awsome.

Hopefully our clan (XGN) will get back together for Tribes 2 and maybe we could make and FINISH the WWIII mod...without bickering with that other dev team whose evil vile name i shan't mention

Caliber, that is true in a sense. But the valve team started their work on the q2 engine. (I think... I might be mistaken)

Q1 engine(id)->Q2 engine(id)->HL engine(Valve)
